Chairman and Non-Executive and Director of the Trustee
James Philips is the former Head of Corporate at two major law firms, and a former Board member and Chair of the Audit Committee at one of them.
James holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Laws degrees, and is a Member of the Adjunct Faculty in Corporate Law at the University of Sydney, He is a non-executive director of the Centre for Independent Studies.
James Murchison brings a Chartered Accountant’s independent oversight through his directorship of Markham’s trustee company.
Prior to establishing Murchisons, James held a management position with KPMG (formerly Peat Marwick) in audit, business services and insolvency. His broad corporate and accounting experience includes establishing sustainable corporate governance frameworks, risk assessment and management processes for businesses.
James has a Bachelor Commerce from the University of New South Wales, is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and a member of Australian Institute of Company Directors.
